Artist statement: No two days are the same with ADHD and Autism.
It feels like a constant battle, and having a late diagnosis in my 30s has impacted the way I navigate daily life. Right now, I am going through a period where isolating feels more comfortable. Masking can be so exhausting!
In 2020 I was diagnosed with an eye condition called Uveitis (inflammation of the eye). I honestly thought it would go away after a few days. Fast forward to 2023, and I have been taking steroid eye drops ever since.
Every time the doctors attempt to take me off the medication, I have a flare-up.
This causes sensitivity to light, blurred vision, eye pain, redness and floaters.
This means as soon as the eye drops run out, I am back in A and E as it can cause blindness if not treated straight away.
Being creative helps me escape reality but also allows me to convey how I feel.
This picture sums up being isolated and wanting to go outside but mentally it can be a difficult process.
I love black and white photography as it allows you to focus on the story of the image instead of being distracted by colour.
