Amy Oliver, 'Stuck'. Chicken wire, ripped cotton scrim, plaster of paris (burnt once dry); set in object found on the Thames beach, 2015

Artist statement: This piece was made as a response to chronic back pain caused by endometriosis and adenomyosis, and is my visualisation of the lesions and pain flaring, radiating and enveloping.
Four years on from a total hysterectomy/salpingo-oophorectomy, the battle to manage pelvic and back pain continues.
I am a multi-disciplinary artist splashing around in a giant pool of imposter syndrome; and the one-woman band behind The House of Smalls.
