Just One More Thing by Helen Seymour
Linocut print on white A4 paper
Artist statement: Here we see a disabled detective, the title making reference to TV detective Columbo, who always used to ask his suspects 'just one more thing...' She holds up her blue parking badge like a police badge, and is about to solve the whole damn crime. In another life I would be a detective just like her. I wouldn't run about like all the other detectives - because I physically can't - I'd saunter instead, take the slow lane, and that's where I'd find all the clues. We need to see more representations of disabled women doing the cool jobs, being the detective rather than the victim.
