Artist statement: I found this pattern (by AltionEmbroidery) on Etsy and was inspired to stitch it as I appreciated its message. As a sufferer of Depression and Anxiety myself I have found that there can be a stigma towards medication which is incredibly unhelpful. This is a positive reminder for myself - and hopefully others - that it is ok to need a little help. I have chosen green for my hoop to represent mental health awareness ribbons. The 'happy pills' decorations were a gift from a dear friend when I was at a very low point - each one contained a small note to boost my spirits when I needed a lift.
