Artist statement: Megan Metcalf is an artist based in Margate. Known for her street life sketches, reportage style live illustration Megan's art is characterful and full of life. She loves to depict and celebrate the everyday things that may usually be overlooked and help others to be in the moment with her collaborative experiences.

Megan studied Textile Design at Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design. For over 12 years she was a Creative Research professional and Colour Material Designer. Since moving to Margate over 9 years ago she has spent time developing her art practice and she enjoys using a diverse range of mediums such as painting, illustration, collage, and murals.

Megan moved to Margate and it became her muse and home over 9 years ago. It has become her haven and rescued her from a frazzled life in London.
