Artist statement: I am a queer, disabled artist living in the North West. In 2015 I founded Broken Grey Wires, an organisation exploring ill mental health through art. I have often severe mental health needs and I wanted to communicate this through the artwork I created and develop opportunities and platforms for other artists and communities.
I curate major exhibitions around the UK, alongside community outreach programmes.
I have developed a Mad Manual Toolkit. It's about accessibility, encouraging people to visit art spaces, because there is a toolkit to help audiences, there is The Comfort Zone, a space to relax, sit, lie down ... it's important to me, to normalise asking for our needs.
